The coconut that fell on the concrete...
Wesley Francis is a self-proclaimed "city-raised island girl". Raised in the Bronx, New York, she developed a love for all things sunny and sandy at the tender young age of seven when she experienced her first cruise to Bermuda. At age ten, she received the blessing of being able to travel to the Caribbean yet again, this time on a ten day cruise to five islands. A wanderlust had begun to brew: “As the ship left the port of St. Thomas, I remember everyone being sad because we were heading back to New York. I knew I'd be back though.”
She told herself she would definitely be back.
Wes has since been back to the Caribbean countless times, and plans to visit every island in the Caribbean (thus far she’s been to Cuba, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas (Abaco & Nassau), Turks & Caicos, Puerto Rico, St. Martin/Maarten, Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, Guadeloupe, St. Lucia, Grenada, Barbados, Trinidad, Aruba, Curacao, U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas), British Virgin Islands (Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda, Cooper Island)). She is a full-time middle school special education teacher and a part-time group travel planner (specializing in group travel for women who are tired of waiting on others!). Wes currently resides in Queens, New York, with her son and husband (who just so happens to be from the twin-peak island of St. Lucia, where they tied the knot in 2011).
